THE GENDER IDENTITY AT PERU: EVOLUTION AND CURRENT SITUATION

RESUMEN: El concepto “identidad” ha tenido un desarrollo interesante desde que se fueron disgregando, para su elaboración, los ámbitos del desarrollo personal, así desde la segunda parte del siglo XX se puede apreciar definiciones que separan el concepto en identidad personal e identidad social.

El desarrollo más tolerante de algunas culturas ha permitido que a la fecha se aprecie la existencia del concepto Identidad de género, pensado como la percepción y manifestación personal del propio género independientemente de su sexo biológico, situación que ha logrado respaldo jurídico por diversas instituciones supranacionales y que emiten pronunciamientos vinculantes para el Estado Peruano.

En el presente artículo se analiza el desarrollo del concepto identidad de género y se analiza la situación de percepción de este concepto por parte del Estado Peruano.

ABSTRACT: The notion "identity" has had an interesting development since the areas of personal development were disintegrating for its elaboration, since the second part of the 20th century, definitions that separate the concept into personal identity and social identity can be appreciated.

The more tolerant development of some cultures has allowed the existence of the concept of gender identity to be appreciated, thought of as the perception and personal manifestation of one's own gender regardless of their biological sex, a situation that has been legally supported by various supranational institutions and that issue binding pronouncements for the Peruvian State.

This article analyzes the development of the concept of gender identity and analyzes the situation of perception of this concept by the Peruvian State.
