EVALUACIÓN DEL MODELO DE ACREDITACIÓN ABET: RESULTADOS DEL ESTUDIANTE EGRESANTE Y LOGRO DE LOS OBJETIVOS EDUCACIONALES DE LOS EGRESADOS DE LA ESCUELA PROFESIONAL DE INGENIERÍA ELECTRÓNICA DE LA UCSM, PERIODO DE ESTUDIOS 2017 Y 2018 - AREQUIPA – 2019

EVALUATION OF THE ABET ACCREDITATION MODEL: GRADING STUDENT RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENT OF THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF SCHOOL GRADUATES PROFESSIONAL OF ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING AT UCSM, STUDY PERIOD 2017 AND 2018 - AREQUIPA – 2019

RESUMEN: El objetivo de la presente investigación es evaluar la pertinencia y el logro del modelo ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) analizando los Resultados del Estudiante egresante 2017 y 2018 y el logro de los Objetivos Educacionales de los egresados de la Escuela Profesional de Ingeniería Electrónica de la Universidad Católica de Santa María de Arequipa. La muestra estuvo conformada en total por 67 egresantes (alumnos del último semestre), siendo 32 estudiantes del año 2017 y 35 estudiantes del año 2018. Asimismo, los egresados fueron un total de 50 exalumnos cuya fuente de información fue el informe del Comité de Evaluación del Programa ABET, (Encuesta de egresados octubre-noviembre 2018). Se trata de una investigación explicativa de tipo correlacional donde el instrumento utilizado para recoger información de la variable Resultados del Estudiante egresante fue el cuestionario denominado “Evaluación del Logro de Resultados de Competencias” y de la variable Logro de los Objetivos Educacionales de los egresados el instrumento utilizado fue la ficha de Registro de Datos.

La evaluación como parte de todo proceso de acreditación siempre aporta elementos para revisar, ajustar, modificar, reestructurar y redimensionar, por ello en esta investigación se comprueba que se ha mejorado la percepción del logro de competencias en el marco de la Acreditación ABET de los egresantes del 2018 al haber obtenido una media aritmética del 78%  superando el puntaje propuesto por ABET respecto de los egresantes del 2017 quiénes tienen una media aritmética del 75% que es el puntaje límite propuesto por ABET. Respecto de los resultados del logro de los Objetivos Educacionales según el Informe de la Comisión de Evaluación muestran que un porcentaje mayoritario del 96% de los encuestados están de acuerdo o totalmente de acuerdo con los Objetivos Educacionales.

El índice de correlación entre las variables fue mayor en el año 2018 con un 0,811 que nos indica una correlación positiva fuerte, respecto del año 2017 que obtuvo un coeficiente de correlación de 0,655 correlación positiva media lo que quiere decir que los estudiantes al estar “Totalmente de acuerdo” con los Objetivos Educacionales del modelo ABET logran “Buenos Resultados del Estudiante Egresante” y viceversa.

ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was to evaluate the relevance and achievement of the ABET (Engineering and Technology Accreditation Board Program), analyzing the Results of the 2017 and 2018 Graduate student and the Achievement of the Educational Objectives of the Graduates of the Professional School of Electronic Engineering of the Catholic University of Santa María de Arequipa; The sample consisted of a total of 67 graduates, with 32 students from 2017 and 35 students from 2018. In addition, the graduates were a total of 50 alumni whose source of information was the report of the Evaluation Committee of the ABET Program, (Survey of graduates October-November 2018), is an explanatory investigation of a correlational type. The instrument used to collect information on the variable Results of the Graduate student was the questionnaire called "Evaluation of the Achievement of Proficiency Results" and the variable Achievements of the Educational Objectives of the Graduates, the instrument used was the data record file.

The evaluation as part of every accreditation process always provides elements to review, adjust, modify, restructure and resize, so in our research we have verified that the perception of the achievement of competencies in the framework of the ABET Accreditation of 2018 graduates having obtained an arithmetic average of 78% exceeding the score proposed by ABET with respect to the 2017 Graduates who have an arithmetic average of 75% which is the limit score proposed by ABET. Regarding the results of the achievement of the Educational Objectives according to the Report of the Evaluation Commission, they show that a majority percentage of 96% of the respondents agree or totally agree with the Educational Objectives.

The correlation index between the variables was higher in the year 2018 with a 0.811 that indicates a strong positive correlation, compared to the year 2017 that obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.655 average positive correlation “means that the students to be “Totally agree” with the Educational Objectives of the ABET Project they achieve “Good Results of the Egressing Student” and viceversa.
